What is the trend?
The trend that Samsung is setting is expanding their business to an international level and catering to the needs of different places. This trend is becoming more popular because it increases the number of buyers and makes them internationally known. As well it makes it easier to partner up with people around the World. Catering to the needs of the buyer depending on the area being sold is a good strategy because consumers are more likely to buy products that are the most convenient for their lifestyles.
How is this trend changing society/ how is it affecting Businesses?
Having businesses expand internationally changes the society because places that never had much connection with mobile phones are now being offered good quality products because places like Samsung that were established in North America are being sent out across the world. As well because of the international expansion it is affecting businesses greatly. Firstly they have to hire more human resources because they are needed in the production of the phones because more phones are needed. Secondly the business needs to be able to connect and communicate with others on an international level. Lastly the revenue of a business is affected because it will grow with all the new consumers being offered their products.
Opportunities that this can create for Entrepreneurs:
- New ideas to suit different countries
- Expand their company to bring in a larger revenue
- Partnerships across the Globe are available
Taking Advantage of this trend
Polar Mobile run by the Canadian CEO Kunal Gupta has been trying to expand the phone company for awhile now. Finally he has manage to obtain international customers. Kunal thinks that there is not a lot of Canadian mobile companies expanding their business abroad. They mostly focus on parts of Asia. Polar Mobile has had major success internationally and now has 95% of their revenue coming from outside of the country. With this new expansion the company has now had to hire 80 new employees to help work the business.
